Three Stony Point police officers are credited with saving three children from a burning home in Tompkins Cove on Saturday. Officers William Mari, John Ferrara and Vincent Agovino were first to arrive on the scene and carried the children to safety. Three adults got out safely as well, but the Rosetown Road home was destroyed. News 12 says the Red Cross is assisting the family. Strong winds that downed power lines may have sparked the blaze.
