Concern over the potential sale of a treasured piece of land in North Rockland has the supervisor scrambling to put together a group that could possibly purchase the property and keep it the way it is. Owned by the local chapter of the Boy Scouts, Camp Bullowa is a 313-acre piece of property in Stony Point on Lake Boyce. Town supervisor Jim Monaghan has fond recollections of the place from when he was a young scout…
Commercial real estate broker Cushman & Wakefield doesn’t have a list price for Camp Bullowa but Monaghan says it’s valued at about 3.3 million dollars. Monaghan says the town can’t get into a bidding war for the property if it comes to that, and any potential eminent domain case would be difficult because the proceeds are intended to be used to settle lawsuits.
