Though the Hudson Valley Boy Scouts have removed the “for sale” sign from Stony Point’s Camp Bullowa, the town’s supervisor is concerned they’re not out entirely out of the woods just yet. Two other camps in the Hudson Valley had been considered as part of a package with Bullowa. A property in Dutchess County is still available, but another in Putnam Valley will not be sold. The Boy Scouts of America organization needs to unload various properties to help pay nearly $2 billion in legal settlements with the Victims Compensation Trust stemming from thousands of lawsuits that led to the group’s bankruptcy deal.
