A Suffern real estate investor and two others pleaded guilty last week to participating in a $119 million mortgage fraud conspiracy. The Justice Department said Moshe “Mark” Silber and two others conspired to commit wire fraud affecting a financial institution by fraudulently getting multi-million-dollar loans and buying multi-family properties between 2018 and 2020. Silber, along with Fredrick Schulman of Briarcliff Manor and Chaim “Eli” Puretz of New Jersey are scheduled to be sentenced in December and face up to five years in prison.
