[Update 12/11/2002 7:51pm] Police charged 25 year-old Marilyn Mora with the killing of her mother, 60 year-old Doris Quispe of Stony Point. Mora was charged with second degree murder. She was arraigned and sent to the Rockland County Jail without bail.
[Earlier] Stony Point Police say a 25 year-old woman is in custody following a fatal stabbing early this morning. Stony Point Police Chief Edward Finn says they responded to a residence on Willow Grove Road around 1AM this morning following a 911 call. Officers arrived on scene and found a 60 year-old woman who had suffered fatal stab/slash wounds from a large knife. The suspect, a relative of the victim, was taken into custody by responding officers and a weapon was recovered at the scene. Chief Finn says this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public at this time. No other details were released. The investigation is ongoing.
