The Tappan Zee Bridge and other state landmarks were lit up in blue last night to honor 68 police officers from seven departments in New York State who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. They were honored yesterday at a Remembrance Ceremony in Albany. The officers’ names were added to the New York State Police Officers Memorial at the Empire State Plaza. The granite walls of the memorial now have the names of 1,840 police officers from 152 agencies across the state, and six federal agencies. Hochul designated May 7th as “Police Memorial Day.”
