The teenage suspect Haverstraw Police have connected to a Pomona man’s murder earlier this month was caught over the weekend in South Carolina. Haverstraw Police Chief John Gould says 18 year-old Yandi Martinez of Haverstraw was nabbed early Saturday afternoon in Piedmont, South Carolina, with the help of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Special Investigations Team, the FBI’s Westchester Safe Streets Task Force, and the Columbia Division of the FBI. 29 year-old Christian Alvarado died July first, he was found shot dead near a vehicle that had crashed into a parked car in Haverstraw in the area of Fairmount Avenue and West Street. Chief Gould is expected to hold a press conference today to provide additional details.
