A former TV host will spend four years behind bars and was fined ten million dollars after he was sentenced last week after he was convicted of fraud. 58 year-old Charles Hill had been charged with 10 counts of grand theft of personal property exceeding $950,000; three counts of embezzlement; and one count of diversion of construction funds. The fraud occurred when he was the host of the HGTV show “Flip It to Win It” which aired in 2013 and featured Hill and his team buying dilapidated homes, fixing them, then selling them for a profit. Real Estate expert Naomi Streicher of Q Home Sales in New City says the process of flipping homes is a lot harder than those TV shows make it look…
Fortune.com reported Hill concocted multiple fraud schemes, including a Ponzi scheme that showed he spent laundered money on a rented San Francisco apartment, hotels, vacations, and luxury cars. Streicher’s “Real Estate Report” can be heard here on WRCR Monday mornings at 7:15.
