Rockland’s D-A wants to get guns off the street and he’s willing to pay you for them. The D-A, Clarkstown Police and State Attorney General’s office are holding a gun buyback program at the East Spring Valley Fire District next Wednesday. If you hand in an assault rifle, you’ll get a $250 bank card and an iPad. A handgun gets you a $150 bank card and an iPad. They also accept rifles, shotguns, even non-working antique guns – no questions asked. The weapons must be unloaded, and placed in a paper or plastic bag or shoe box. If you bring them there by car, they must be in the trunk. The gun buyback program will be at the East Spring Valley Fire District on Overlook Boulevard in Nanuet from 4-7pm Wednesday. Turn in as many as you like, but there’s only one iPad per person, available while supplies last.
