It’s that time of year again…the turtles are returning to Orangetown! It’s birthing season for the turtles at the SUEZ-New York-owned Tappan Watershed in Blauvelt. For the next six weeks they’ll cross busy Western Highway near the border with Clarkstown to give birth, sometimes not as successfully as they would like. Many volunteers are out there to help keep the turtles safe during their journey. SUEZ-New York’s Senior Conservation Program Specialist Chelsea Wulff urges drivers in the area to take it slow, since every turtle that doesn’t make it damages their population…
