Two Stony Point men were arrested last week after they were allegedly caught in the act of stealing copper wiring and pipes from a basement building located on Patriot Hills Drive. Stony Point Police say 58 year-old Joseph Squillante and 18 year-old Matthew Daniels were found inside the basement at 8 Patriot Hills Drive along with a large bundle of copper pipes, brass fittings, a battery-operated saw with extra batteries, and a headlamp. They were arrested without incident and charged with Burglary, Possession of Burglar Tools, Criminal Mischief and other charges. They were arraigned in Stony Point Justice Court, Squillante was sent to the Rockland County Jail, Daniels was released on his own recognizance.
