Last fall the Pearl River High School community was in shock after two students died when a car plunged off Route 304, crashing to the railroad tracks below near Crooked Hill Road, killing two teens and injuring the driver. Now, the driver of that car, and the driver of a second car, have been arrested and charged with criminally negligent homicide, racing and other charges. The Journal News says Orangetown police have charged Aisha Radoncic, who was 17 at the time, and Jason Castro, of driving recklessly. Two passengers in Radoncic’s Porsche, Pearl River High School senior and football star, 17 year-old Altin Nezaj, and 15-year-old Saniha Cekic of Brooklyn, Radoncic’s cousin, were both killed in the October 13th crash. Radoncic and Castro were both arraigned and pleaded not guilty. Castro was released without bail and is due back in court in August. Radoncic was arraigned in Rockland Superior Court’s youth division and released without bail. She’s due back in court June 30th.
