Though years of building and zoning code issues and a legal battle with Metro-North railroad weren’t enough to shut down Motty’s supermarket in Monsey, a fire did in February. No one was hurt in the blaze, but the fire has taken center stage, along with the fire just weeks later at a Spring Valley adult home that claimed the life of a volunteer firefighter and a resident.
