The longest-running, largest, single-day volunteer community service event in Rockland kicks off tomorrow at Palisades Center. Development Coordinator for United Way of Rockland, Dorothy Atzl, says volunteers in the “Spring Day of Caring” will help complete essential projects for Rockland County’s many health and human services providers…
The projects range from painting and power washing to carpentry repairs, things the organizations couldn’t otherwise afford to do on their own. The event begins with a “Kick-off Luncheon & Rally” at Palisades Center that celebrates hundreds of area volunteers. Teams of volunteers then head off to do their projects.
