Word of a possible plea deal for the two rabbis charged with starting the fatal fire at a Spring Valley adult home two years ago did not go over well with WRCR listeners. News 12 reported the deal would include no prison time for Rabbi Nathaniel Sommer and his son Rabbi Aaron Sommer. While no plea deal has been announced yet, just the thought of it had “Morning Show” listener J.P. very unhappy with Rockland County District Attorney Tom Walsh…
Justin Schwartz, AKA “Junior Commander,” of the Spring Valley Fire Department, was also upset about the prospect of the Sommers getting off easy…

Sabrail Davenport, the mother of volunteer firefighter Jared Lloyd who was killed in the blaze, called the “Who Wants to be a Volunteer” program in January, and had expressed her hope back then that the Sommers would not be treated lightly…
A resident of the home was also killed in the fire. The Sommers face felony charges for allegedly starting the fire while cleaning and preparing the Evergreen Adult Home for Passover. We reached out to the Rockland County District Attorney’s office and the Sommers’ attorney for comment, but did not hear back.
