BOCES:
– All evening Rockland BOCES Adult Education classes are cancelled in Nyack, West Nyack and at Spring Valley High School. Additionally, all Rockland BOCES afterschool programs are cancelled today, January 9.
Clarkstown:
– All after-school programs are cancelled.
– The Felix Festa Middle School concert scheduled for today will be rescheduled.
– The daycare will operate on a normal pick-up schedule. Aftercare will be available until 5:30 PM.
East Ramapo Central School District
– All after-school programs are cancelled.
– All East Ramapo schools will be on a 2-hour delay, Wednesday 1/10, due to weather conditions.
Nanuet:
– all after-school activities, including sports, have been cancelled.
– The School Age Care Program (SAC) for Miller/Highview students and the Middle School After School Program (MAP) at Barr are cancelled.
– Tonight’s Board Meeting has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for Tuesday, 1/16 at 8pm
North Rockland: All after-school programs are cancelled.
Nyack:
– All after-school activities including the HS AVID Parent Meeting for Nyack Public Schools are CANCELLED for this afternoon and evening.
– YMCA and JCC after-school care programs at our elementary schools are NOT canceled. However, parents/caregivers are strongly encouraged to pick up their children early and by 5pm.
– The Board of Education meeting scheduled for this evening has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 16th at 6:30pm in the Nyack High School auditorium.
Pearl River:
– All after-school and evening activities are cancelled for today. This includes this evening’s Board of Education Meeting. New date TBD.
– The YMCA Aftercare program at Franklin Avenue is still running, but families are strongly encouraged to pick up their children by 5 PM to avoid hazardous travel conditions.
Rockland Community College: All RCC campuses are closed as of 3pm. All in-person classes are cancelled. Students in remote synchronous and online classes will remain in session. Non-essential staff are not required to work remotely. Please check with your supervisor if you have questions. South Orangetown:
– All after-school and evening activities are cancelled for today.
– The YMCA Aftercare program is still running, but families are strongly encouraged to pick up their children by 5 PM to avoid hazardous travel conditions.
Suffern:
– All afterschool activities, including sports competitions, are cancelled for Suffern Central School District today, Tuesday, January 9. Select high school sports teams will still practice and be finished by 5:00 pm. No modified sports team practices will occur.
– The YMCA after-care program will still take place. Parents are encouraged to pick up their child(ren) by 5pm.
Other:
Orangetown Supervisor Teresa Kenny says Tuesday night’s 7pm Orangetown Town Board Reorganizational meeting is being postponed until Wednesday night, January 10, 2024, at 7pm.
All Rockland County Legislature committee meetings scheduled for this evening, Tuesday, Jan. 9, have been rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 10. Meeting times are the same. The Rockland County Legislature’s committee meetings will start at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, in the Legislature’s Chambers in the Allison-Parris County Office Building, 11 New Hempstead Road in New City. Here is the schedule: 6 p.m., Environmental; 6:15 p.m., Public Safety; 6:30 p.m., Multi-Services; 6:45 p.m., Economic Development; 7 p.m., Planning & Public Works; 7:05 p.m., Budget & Finance; 7:45 p.m., Rules.
